Obidient Movement Calls for Donations Ahead of Peter Obi’s 64th Birthday Rally

The Obidient Movement has launched a public appeal for financial support to organize a nationwide rally in honour of Peter Obi’s 64th birthday, scheduled for Friday, July 19, 2025.

In a statement jointly signed on Monday by the group’s National Coordinator, Dr. Yunusa Tanko; Director of Mobilisation, Morris Monye; and Director of Strategic Communications and Media, Nana Kazaure, the movement described the event as more than just a birthday celebration.

This is more than a birthday celebration; it is an opportunity to reaffirm our collective commitment to good governance, justice, and accountability in Nigeria,” the statement said.

Supporters across Nigeria and in the diaspora were urged to contribute and participate in state-level activities as part of the commemoration.

To facilitate the fundraising, the movement has opened four dedicated bank accounts, jointly managed by Serah Ibrahim, Ezeokoli Blessing (also known as Jack), and John Alor. These accounts will be used to finance logistics, media outreach, volunteer kits, and mobilisation efforts nationwide.

“For transparency and effective coordination, a planning committee has been constituted to oversee all national and state-level activities,” the organisers stated.

The group assured donors that all contributions would be managed responsibly, with regular updates on income and expenditures.

“We call on every Obidient to connect with their local structures and play an active role in planning and executing this historic rally. Your participation is vital not only for this celebration but for the movement’s long-term political vision,” the statement concluded.
