IGP Announces Strategic Deployment of Police Commissioners Across Five States

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has implemented immediate postings of senior police commissioners to key commands in Borno, Cross River, Jigawa, Osun, and Ondo states as part of his ongoing efforts to strengthen law enforcement leadership nationwide.

In a statement released Sunday, the IGP emphasized that these appointments reflect his commitment to placing experienced professionals in critical positions to combat criminal activities that pose threats to national security.

The newly appointed commissioners include CP Naziru D. Abdulmajid, who takes charge of Borno State Command, and CP Bello Rasheed Afegbua, assigned to Cross-River State. CP Dahiru Mohammed has been posted to Jigawa State, while CP Adebowale Lawal assumes leadership of Ondo State Command.

Additional appointments see CP Ibrahim Gotan heading to Osun State Command, CP Eloho Edwin Okpoziakpo moving to the Department of Training and Development at Force Headquarters, and CP Olusegun Eyitayo Omosayin taking up the role of CP General Investigation at the FCID Annex in Gombe State.

The police chief described these deployments as strategic moves designed to harness the extensive policing expertise of these senior officers, ultimately enhancing public safety and security across their assigned areas.

IGP Egbetokun has called upon these newly deployed commissioners to demonstrate unwavering professionalism and exemplary leadership in their duties. He also urged Nigerian citizens to continue supporting police efforts in the ongoing battle against crime and criminality, reaffirming the Force’s dedication to building a safer, more secure nation.
