A 39-year-old Nigerian national, Patrick Onjejeke, has been arrested and arraigned in South Africa after he was allegedly caught in possession of seven plastic bags containing heroin, Cat, and cocaine.
According to a statement released on Friday by the South African Police Service (SAPS) through its official website and X account, Onjejeke was apprehended during a targeted operation carried out by the Provincial Organised Crime Unit. His arrest followed credible intelligence suggesting he was transporting illegal drugs from Polokwane to Mokopane in a white Hyundai vehicle.
The police revealed that the vehicle was intercepted along Thabo Mbeki Street near Evergreen Junior Campus. A search of the car led to the discovery of the illicit substances, estimated to be worth around R100,000.
