JUST IN: NCAA Bans K1 De Ultimate from Flying for Six Months Over Disorderly Conduct

By HeadlineNews.News Staff

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has imposed a six-month flight ban on legendary Fuji musician King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, following an incident of alleged misconduct during a commercial flight boarding earlier this week.

The development was disclosed by Michael Achimugu, the NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, during a press briefing on Thursday.

“As we speak, the passenger is going to be blacklisted for the next six months flying in Nigeria,” Achimugu stated.

He emphasized that aviation rules are globally enforced standards that ensure the safety of all passengers, adding that no individual is above accountability.

“What I must assure the general public is that everybody involved in this will be brought to book,” he added.
“We will do everything we can to get to the root of it. Everybody who needs to be punished or sanctioned will receive justice.”

Achimugu also revealed that the NCAA would be writing to the Attorney General of the Federation and the Inspector General of Police to initiate legal proceedings against the music icon.

Background of the Incident

The incident that triggered the ban occurred earlier in the week and sparked public outrage after the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) released a statement confirming KWAM 1’s involvement in a breach of conduct during boarding procedures.

According to FAAN, the musician was spotted holding a bottle of alcoholic beverage while boarding a commercial flight. In the course of events, he allegedly spilled the contents on a cabin crew member—an act the agency described as both “unacceptable” and a “violation of aviation safety protocol.”

“The behaviour displayed by the passenger was completely out of line with safety and hospitality standards,” a FAAN spokesperson said.
“We will not condone actions that threaten the integrity of airport operations.”

K1 Denies Allegation, Claims Water Was Mistaken for Alcohol

In a swift response, K1 De Ultimate denied the allegations, stating that the bottle he was holding contained water, not alcohol. His management team further alleged that he was the one wronged, adding that airport and airline officials later apologized to him in person.

“If indeed there had been anything inappropriate in his conduct, the Head of Airport Security, officials from relevant agencies such as FAAN and NCAA, as well as the Chairman and Managing Director of the airline, would not have reached out personally to appeal, tender apologies, and even go as far as arranging a private jet to fly him to Lagos — at no cost,” the statement said.
“Despite persistent persuasion from the airline’s top executives, K1 graciously declined the offer.”

The statement also clarified that only the singer and his personal assistant were directly involved in the incident. According to him, a few concerned passengers who witnessed the situation urged him to remain calm, recognizing the “undue pressure” he was under.

Allegation Against the Pilot

KWAM 1 also addressed circulating reports concerning the pilot involved in the flight. He claimed that the pilot had since had her license suspended and accused her of attempting to shift blame.

“Given the circumstances, it is no surprise if she attempts to deflect blame — surely, she must lie to cover herself up,” the statement noted.

Call for Responsible Reporting

In conclusion, the Fuji legend urged both the public and the media to avoid sensationalism and allow the facts of the matter to emerge.

“We urge the media and the public to avoid sensationalism and allow the truth — not assumptions — to guide their judgment,” the statement concluded.
