The Maritime Police Command has officially decorated seven of its personnel recently elevated in the latest round of promotions sanctioned by the Police Service Commission (PSC).
The recognition ceremony, presided over by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of the Command, Musa Yusuf Garba, psc(+), IIPS, PSPS, took place at the Force Headquarters Annex, Obalende, Lagos.
According to a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Adebayo Rashidi, the event drew a distinguished audience, including senior police officials, departmental heads, and officers from various units, who came together to celebrate their colleagues’ professional advancement.
List of Honourees
Among the officers honoured was ACP Oyin Francess, the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration. She was joined by three newly promoted Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP) and three newly promoted Inspectors of Police, all recognised for their dedication and exemplary service.
A Call to Higher Service
In his congratulatory remarks, AIG Garba commended the officers for their years of steadfast commitment to duty, noting that their new ranks should serve as both a reward and a renewed mandate to deliver exceptional service.
He reminded them that with promotion comes greater responsibility, urging them to embody the core policing values of discipline, integrity, and selflessness, especially in protecting Nigeria’s maritime interests.
The Command extended its best wishes to the decorated officers, expressing confidence that they would continue to uphold the honour of the Nigeria Police Force in their new roles.
