Tension rocked the Adamawa State bye-election on Saturday as security operatives allegedly discovered a ballot box and Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines inside a vehicle linked to APC National Vice Chairman (North-East), Mustapha Salihu.
According to our Source, the sensitive election materials were retrieved after concerned Adamawa youths raised an alarm over suspicious movement during the voting process. Their swift action prompted security forces to intervene, leading to the recovery of the INEC materials from the vehicle.
The shocking incident has triggered outrage among opposition parties and civil society organizations, many of whom are now demanding a thorough investigation into the alleged diversion of electoral tools meant for polling units.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which oversees Nigeria’s electoral process, has yet to release an official statement on the matter. Similarly, the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership has remained silent, fueling further concerns about transparency in the electoral process.
Political observers note that this development has heightened tensions in Adamawa State politics, as voters continue to call for fairness, transparency, and accountability in the ongoing election.
