Meghan Markle could find herself in a difficult position as Prince Harry returns to the UK this week, a royal expert has suggested.
The Duke of Sussex is due in London tonight for the annual WellChild Awards before heading to Nottingham on Tuesday for further engagements. While no official meeting has been confirmed, speculation remains that Harry could reunite with his father, King Charles — their first meeting since February last year.
Royal commentator Jennie Bond told OK! Magazine that such a scenario might be unsettling for the Duchess of Sussex.
“It would be natural for her to feel somewhat threatened by her husband being drawn back into the royal circle,” Bond said, adding that Meghan may feel conflicted about the possibility of Harry meeting his father. “I’m sure, though, they would have discussed it, and that Harry would not go ahead if he did not have his wife’s support.”
Meanwhile, author Tom Bower argued Meghan might actually feel “safe” in California, reassured that Harry’s top priority remains her and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
