The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced the shortlisting of 286,697 candidates for its 2025 recruitment exercise, with the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBT) scheduled to hold online between September 14 and 21.
In a statement on Thursday, the Service explained that the test will be conducted strictly on laptops or desktop computers with webcams, stressing that mobile phones are not supported. Candidates will undergo facial verification at login and are advised to ensure clear visibility and neat appearance during the process.
The NCS also warned of strict monitoring throughout the exercise. The system is programmed to detect noise, excessive movement, or attempts to switch browser windows. Any breach could result in automatic logout and disqualification.
To familiarise applicants with the platform, the Service will conduct a mandatory pre-test two days before the main exam. Each shortlisted candidate will receive two separate email links — one for the practice session and another for the final test.
The Service added that applicants for the Superintendent Cadre will undergo an additional CBT in a later round, unlike candidates applying for Inspectorate and Customs Assistant positions.
NCS further reminded the public that the recruitment process is completely free and merit-based, warning candidates to disregard fraudulent demands for payment or updates circulated via social media. Official information, it said, would only be shared through its verified channels.
