An Open Letter To Mr. President: A Call For The Removal Of Nuhu Ribadu, Badaru, Mutawalle, And Senator Shehu Buba

Your Excellency, Mr. President,

I write to you today on behalf of the Hausa people both at home and in the diaspora. This is not just my voice, but the collective cry of a people who have stood with you, believed in you, and supported you when it mattered most. In your first tenure, the Hausa people gave you their votes wholeheartedly, believing in your promise of fairness, justice, and a Nigeria where every citizen will be protected and valued. Even now, we are prepared to stand with you again in your second tenure. But our loyalty is being tested.

Mr. President, we must speak to you with truth and honesty. The Hausa people are deeply concerned about the presence of Nuhu Ribadu, Badaru, Mutawalle, and Senator Shehu Buba in your government. These four men do not represent the interest of Nigeria, nor do they represent the interest of peace. They come from one tribe and work in alignment with the most suspicious union in our land, Miyetti Allah (MACBAN), an organization that has long been accused of shielding and defending terrorism across Nigeria.

The Hausa people are loyal to you, Mr. President. But loyalty without recognition is dangerous. Our population, with 32% of the Nigerian nation, remains without a single meaningful appointment in your government. Meanwhile, the Fulani, who represent only 6%, have been handed sensitive and powerful positions that determine the fate of our lives and security. This is not only unfair—it is dangerous to the survival of our people and the unity of our nation.

It is important to remind you, Mr. President, that you do not need the Fulani to win elections. History and recent figures show that they are too few in number to determine the destiny of your leadership. It was the Hausa, along with other indigenous groups, who stood by you and delivered the votes that brought you to power. Why then should our lives, our ancestral land, and our security be handed over to men who work day and night for Fulani supremacy and not for the progress of Nigeria?

Your Excellency, the presence of Nuhu Ribadu, Badaru, Mutawalle, and Senator Shehu Buba in your cabinet is a betrayal of trust to the Hausa people. These individuals are not neutral. They are not here for Nigeria. They are here to serve their tribe, to promote Fulani dominance, and to protect the interests of Miyetti Allah. Even former Governor of Kaduna State has openly accused Fulani elites of sponsoring terrorism. How then can men of such affiliations be entrusted with the defense and security of our people?

Mr. President, the Hausa people are not asking for charity. We are not begging for favors. We are demanding justice, fairness, and equal representation. We have sacrificed too much for Nigeria to be treated as second-class citizens in our own land. We cannot continue to watch while our loyalty is repaid with disregard, and our security is entrusted into the hands of those accused of complicity with terror.

This letter is not written in anger but in truth. It is a reminder to you, Mr. President, that history will judge your leadership not by your words but by your actions. If you truly seek to build a united Nigeria, then you must remove these men who do not represent peace, justice, or inclusiveness.

Think of the message their presence sends to the Hausa people. Think of the pain of our communities who are daily attacked, displaced, and massacred by terrorists widely believed to be Fulani militias. To then see Fulani elites in charge of our defense is like pouring salt into our open wounds. It is unjust, it is insensitive, and it cannot continue.

Mr. President, you have the power to correct this injustice. You have the authority to show the Hausa people that their loyalty has not been misplaced. Removing Nuhu Ribadu, Badaru, Mutawalle, and Senator Shehu Buba from your government will not only restore our trust, it will also send a clear message that Nigeria belongs to all of us—not to one tribe or one suspicious union.

The Hausa people, both at home and abroad, are watching closely. We are not blind. We are not voiceless. We are ready to continue our support for you, but our loyalty must be valued and protected. We cannot be expected to fight, sacrifice, and vote, only for our enemies to be rewarded with the power to rule over us.

Your Excellency, I urge you in the strongest terms: listen to the voice of reason. Do not allow your government to be hijacked by men who answer to tribal loyalty rather than national interest. Nigeria is bigger than any single tribe, and your leadership must reflect that truth.

On behalf of the Hausa people and Nigerians as a whole, I respectfully but firmly call for the immediate removal of Nuhu Ribadu, Badaru, Mutawalle, and Senator Shehu Buba. The safety of our people, the future of our children, and the unity of our nation depend on this decision.

We have given you our trust, Mr. President. We have given you our votes. And we are ready to give you our support again. But we cannot continue to give everything while receiving nothing. Justice must be done, and it must be done now.

May history remember you as the President who stood for justice and fairness, not as the one who handed over the fate of millions to men accused of supporting terror. May you act with courage, wisdom, and the strength to do what is right.

With utmost respect and sincerity,

Habibu Yusuf Sodangi
