President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to visit Plateau State on Saturday, October 4, to attend the funeral of Nana Lydia Yilwatda Goshwe, the mother of APC National Chairman, Nantewe Yilwatda. During the visit, he’ll also meet with Christian leaders from across the North at the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) headquarters in Jos. This was confirmed in a statement released on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
This trip follows a series of recent engagements, including his appearance in Oyo State for the coronation of the 44th Olubadan, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, and a stop in Imo State to commission projects by Governor Hope Uzodimma.
Since taking office in 2023, President Tinubu has been increasingly visible across the country, having visited at least 14 states to commission projects, attend significant events, and strengthen relationships with local communities and leaders.
A Breakdown of Tinubu’s State Visits So Far:
1. Lagos State (South West)
Tinubu has made several trips to Lagos, which remains his most visited state outside Abuja. As a former governor of Lagos (1999–2003), he maintains deep political and personal ties to the city.
His visits have included private engagements, project inaugurations, and a working visit in September 2024 ahead of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.
2. Borno State (North East)
In December 2023, he visited Maiduguri to open the Chief of Army Staff’s Annual Conference. He returned in September 2024 to support victims of severe flooding that affected over a million people. During that visit, he pledged federal assistance for relief efforts.
3. Ogun State (South West)
In June 2023, Tinubu visited traditional rulers in Ogun, including the Awujale of Ijebuland and the Alake of Egbaland, in appreciation of their support during the elections.
He returned in July 2025 for the 8th-day prayer of the late Awujale, Oba Sikiru Adetona.
4. Imo State (South East)

In March 2024, Tinubu inaugurated agricultural mechanization equipment and commissioned the upgraded Minna airport terminal. He also paid a courtesy visit to former Head of State, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida.
7. Katsina State (North West)
From May 4–6, 2025, Tinubu assessed security operations and addressed troops, urging decisive action against terrorists. He returned in July 2025 for the burial of former President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura.
8. Kaduna State (North West)
In June 2025, he commissioned several projects, including a 300-bed specialist hospital and a CNG bus fleet. He visited again in September for the wedding of Nasirudeen Yari, son of Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, and also paid respects to Buhari’s widow.
9. Benue State (North Central)
In June 2025, Tinubu visited Makurdi following a deadly attack in Yelewata. He met with stakeholders to address the ongoing communal violence and promote peace.
10. Nasarawa State (North Central)
Also in June 2025, the President commissioned the ₦16 billion Lafia Flyover/Underpass and visited other major state projects, including the new State Secretariat and Shendam Dual Carriageway.
11. Enugu State (South East)
Tinubu started 2025 with a visit to Enugu on January 4. He engaged with leaders from the South East, listened to their concerns, and emphasized unity and inclusion.
