The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will conduct a mock accreditation exercise in Anambra State on October 25, 2025, to test the upgraded Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) ahead of the November governorship election.
The exercise, targeting selected polling units in Awka South, Idemili North, Oyi, Anambra East, Aguata, and Orumba North, aims to evaluate BVAS response time and the efficiency of result uploads to the INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal.
INEC urged voters in these areas to participate, emphasizing that their involvement is vital for refining operational and technological systems. Additionally, INEC announced that Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) for newly registered voters will be distributed from October 22 to October 26, 2025. Voters must collect their PVCs in person at their registration locations, as proxy collection is prohibited. The commission stressed its commitment to transparency and efficiency to ensure a credible election process.
