The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), FCT Command, has warned #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protesters against vandalizing Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) in the Federal Capital Territory.
The planned protest, organized by Omoyele Sowore for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), prompted the NSCDC FCT Commandant, Olusola Odumosu, to urge all participants to comply with court orders.
The NSCDC has deployed officers from specialized units, including Area Commands and Divisions, to protect CNAI and ensure resident safety before, during, and after the protest. Odumosu emphasized that the Corps will not tolerate destruction, vandalism, or theft of public and private facilities under the guise of protest. While personnel have been instructed not to shoot, harass, or intimidate law-abiding citizens, he warned that criminals or vandals attempting to exploit the situation will face consequences.
