NIMASA Restructures Management Team to Strengthen Operational Efficiency

 

 

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has announced a major reorganization of its management team aimed at boosting operational efficiency, enhancing service delivery, and advancing the agency’s core mandate within the nation’s maritime sector.

Director General of NIMASA, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, disclosed the changes in a statement on Tuesday, explaining that the strategic redeployment is designed to foster inter-departmental collaboration and infuse renewed vigor into the agency’s operations.

 

Under the new structure, Hajia Moji Jimoh has been appointed Director of Administration and Human Resources, while Aishatu Jidda takes over as Director of Planning, Research, and Data Management Services. Barr. Heaky Dimowo assumes the role of Director of Legal Services and Board Secretary, Isichei Osamgbi becomes Director of SERVICOM, and Mrs. Olubusola Obasanjo-Akande now serves as Director of the Western Zone.

Other appointments include Engr. Christopher Amakulo as Director of Special Duties; Ms. Gloria Anyasodo, Director of Cabotage Services; Salihu Abdullahi Yelwa, Director of Shipping Development; Mrs. Nneka Obianyor, Director of Reforms Coordination and Blue Economy; Umar Ibrahim Sidi, Director of Maritime Labour Services; Dr. Oma Ofodile, Director of Marine Environment Management; Mr. Buba Umar, Director of the Abuja Zonal Office; and Ahmed Shittien as Special Adviser (Technical) to the Director General.

Dr. Mobereola commended the newly redeployed directors and charged them to leverage their professional expertise to achieve the agency’s strategic objectives. He emphasized that the restructuring represents a deliberate effort to optimize operations, strengthen synergy among departments, and promote sustainable maritime development in Nigeria.

In total, 56 management staff were affected by the redeployment exercise, reflecting what NIMASA describes as a bold step toward building a more efficient, performance-driven organization capable of meeting the evolving demands of the maritime industry.
