On Tuesday, October 21, 2025, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike declared that President Bola Tinubu’s administration has surpassed all previous governments in delivering projects in Abuja. Speaking at the commissioning of new engineering infrastructure in Wuye District, Wike highlighted a string of initiatives completed under Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, including 12 new roads, the Light Up Abuja solar streetlight project, access roads to the Mabushi Bus Terminal, expanded water supply to satellite towns, and 600-bed hostels for the Nigerian Law School in Bwari.

“I challenge anyone to name an administration since the FCT’s inception that has matched Tinubu’s record,” Wike said, emphasizing the government’s commitment to transforming lives. He noted that the Wuye District road project, awarded in 2009 but only completed under Tinubu, exemplifies the administration’s focus on results. “Sixteen years later, we’ve changed the narrative and shamed the opposition,” he added.

Wike announced plans to commission renovated schools across the FCT, further showcasing Tinubu’s transformative impact. He also pledged full political support to local government chairmen and candidates aligned with the President, hinting at an imminent “political tsunami.” “If you stand with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, you have my 100% support,” Wike said, signaling a major political realignment in the FCT.
