Nigerian troops of Operation Hadin Kai repelled multiple coordinated terrorist attacks on military positions in Dikwa, Mafa, Gajibo, and Katarko in Borno and Yobe States, killing over 50 terrorists. The assaults occurred between midnight and 4 a.m., with attackers targeting locations in Sectors 1 and 2 of the Joint Operations Area.

Lt.-Col. Sani Uba, Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force North East, reported that the troops, supported by precision air strikes from the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, responded with lethal force. The operation, bolstered by enhanced intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, resulted in the recovery of 38 AK-47 rifles, seven PKT machine guns, five RPG tubes, two GPMGs, hand grenades, and thousands of rounds of ammunition.

Intelligence indicates the attackers originated from the Cameroon axis and the Timbuktu Triangle. Over 70 wounded terrorists are being pursued by ground troops, with air support ensuring their clearance.

Some troops sustained injuries but are stable, while vehicles and buildings in Mafa and Dikwa were damaged by terrorist RPGs and armed drones. Despite the intense attacks, the troops maintained control, showcasing professionalism and resolve.
The Military High Command praised the troops’ gallantry, reaffirming their commitment to defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
