Two fleeing suspected robbers nabbed in Niger

Operatives of the Niger State Police Command have arrested two suspected armed robbers, Aliyu Salihu (25) and Jibrin Ndako (22), while fleeing after a robbery in the Bida Local Government Area.

Police spokesman Wasiu Abiodun said the suspects, both from Barkin-Saleh, Minna, were intercepted at Tungan-Shanu, Maje, on October 22, 2025, with a white unregistered Lucky motorcycle.

 

Investigations revealed that the duo, armed with cutlasses, allegedly robbed a student of his motorcycle, four phones, and ₦40,000 around 2:30 a.m. that same day. They confessed to planning to escape to Kogi State before their arrest.

Recovered items include the stolen motorcycle, four phones, two ATM cards, and ₦7,000  part of the stolen cash. The suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
