Three Nigerian Women Arrested in India Over Drug Trafficking Network

Indian authorities have arrested three Nigerian women in Delhi for allegedly operating an international drug trafficking ring. The suspects, identified as Precious, Gift, and Joy, were apprehended near Bakhtawar Chowk after police intercepted a suspected Indian drug supplier linked to their network.

According to the Times of India, the arrest followed the capture of an Indian national, Adarsh Sahu, from Uttar Pradesh, who was found with 26 grams of MDMA. During interrogation, Sahu confessed that he sourced the illegal substances from two Nigerian women residing in Delhi.

Acting on this information, law enforcement officials carried out a follow-up operation that led to the arrest of the three women and the recovery of 39 grams of MDMA. A subsequent raid on a rented apartment in Khanpur Extension uncovered more drugs, including:

22 grams of white MDMA

3 grams of brown MDMA

9 grams of cocaine

An electronic weighing scale, packaging materials, and mobile phones

Police believe the suspects were running a sophisticated cross-border drug supply chain. They have been remanded in custody for further investigation to identify other members of the syndicate.

This development comes amid growing concerns over the increasing involvement of foreign nationals, including Nigerians, in drug trafficking operations across Asia.
