BREAKING: Senator Natasha Invites Akpabio to Kogi for Project Commissioning

The Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has extended an invitation to Senate President Godswill Akpabio to attend a major project commissioning in her constituency.

During Thursday’s Senate plenary, Akpabio read Senator Natasha’s letter of invitation, announcing that the ceremony will hold on Sunday in Ihima, Kogi State, as part of activities marking her second anniversary in the Senate.

“In celebration of my second year as a serving Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I invite my fellow Distinguished Senators to join me for the commissioning of projects in Kogi State,” the letter read.

The invitation specified that the meeting point would be Plot 101, Jimoh Akpoti Street, Ihima, Okene, and advised senators flying in to land at Obajana Airstrip before proceeding by road to Ihima.

After reading the letter aloud, Senate President Akpabio congratulated Senator Natasha, saying, “Congratulations in advance.”

The invitation has been widely interpreted as a gesture of reconciliation between the two lawmakers, following their dispute earlier in the year.

Recall that in February 2025, a disagreement over seat reallocation led to Natasha’s six-month suspension from the Senate on March 6. Since her reinstatement on September 24, she has become more active in plenary sessions and has occasionally interacted with the Senate leadership.

Political observers view her latest move as her most public olive branch toward Akpabio since the rift.
