Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has declared that no one can defeat him in the upcoming August 8, 2026 governorship election, insisting he is not afraid of any “federal might.”

Speaking to journalists after appearing before the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Screening Committee in Abuja on Thursday, Adeleke expressed confidence in both his popularity and performance. He said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would not interfere in the election, noting that his administration has delivered unprecedented achievements in just two years.
“I defeated an incumbent to become governor, and within two years, our record is unmatched,” he said. “Osun PDP is united, and the people are solidly behind me. We’ll be dancing and winning again in 2026.”

Adeleke dismissed any fears of political intimidation, boasting of his broad acceptance across party lines. “How can I be scared? I’m too popular. Even APC members love me. When you perform, you have nothing to fear,” he said.
The governor promised more development projects across the state if re-elected, saying, “It’s more goodies all the way throughout Osun State.”

Chairman of the Osun PDP Governorship Screening Committee, Adebayo Adepoju, confirmed that Adeleke had successfully completed the screening process and that, so far, he is the only aspirant screened for the race.
