Two farmers were shot dead by bandits in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, Kaduna State, on Sunday morning.

A local source told SaharaReporters that the victims were ambushed while heading to their farms near Mamman Yarwa village in Tabani Ward. They were killed instantly.
Concerned community members, alarmed by the farmers’ absence and earlier gunfire, organized a search party. However, the bandits had set up a second ambush, forcing the locals to retreat.
Security forces later arrived, engaged the assailants in a gunfight, and secured the area, allowing the recovery of the bodies.

This incident comes just days after other attacks in the state. On Thursday night, bandits ambushed people along Pala-Sayasaya Road in Ikara Local Government Area, killing one and injuring several. Reports indicate that the assailants kidnapped motorcyclists and stole over 10 motorcycles.
Earlier in the week, six farmers were abducted while working on their beans farm in Layin Danauta village, Kuyello Ward, Birnin Gwari. The attackers targeted individuals traveling to local markets and on motorcycles, taking them into the forest.
Residents report that these attacks are causing widespread fear, with security forces struggling to maintain control over the affected areas.

Banditry in Kaduna State continues unabated, highlighting ongoing security challenges for the region.
