PDP candidate pledges to work with Soludo, urges inclusive government

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the recent Anambra governorship election, Jude Ezenwafor, has promised to work with Governor Chukwuma Soludo to advance development in the state.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Monday, Ezenwafor described Soludo as a longtime friend, saying he had encouraged him to contest for governor during his time as Senior Special Assistant to former Governor Willie Obiano.

He commended Soludo’s administration for tackling insecurity and urged him to run an inclusive government, equip security agencies, and ensure fairness in governance.

Ezenwafor dismissed allegations of vote-buying during the election, insisting he ran a genuine campaign despite internal party sabotage and an alleged assassination attempt that left him hospitalised.

“The PDP was in a comatose state when I came in,” he said. “I spent over ₦80 million to secure the ticket — I wasn’t a placeholder.”

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) winner with 422,664 votes, ahead of APC’s Nicholas Ukachukwu (99,445) and PDP’s Ezenwafor (1,401).Headline news
