The Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting a smooth and transparent Anambra State governorship election, noting that the process was largely peaceful and the results were collated quickly without controversy.

In its post-election report presented in Abuja, the group said the poll did not present major challenges to test newly appointed INEC Chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan, but it lauded the commission for achieving 97% result uploads on the IReV portal within five hours after polls closed.
While describing the election as calm and orderly, the group recorded 35 cases of violence, including voter intimidation, ballot snatching, and one fatality, as well as incidents of vote-buying and low voter turnout. It added that the BVAS performed well in most polling units, though a few experienced delays due to technical issues and late arrival of materials.

The Situation Room also noted gaps in assistive materials for persons with disabilities, but praised security agencies for their professionalism during the election.
Meanwhile, Action Alliance candidate Jeff Nweke congratulated Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his victory, urging other candidates to accept the outcome and join hands to move the state forward.
