Serenity Royale Hospital in Abuja has dismissed a widely circulated medical report that claimed Nollywood actress Regina Daniels was receiving treatment for serious drug dependence at the facility, explaining that the document was fabricated and did not come from the hospital. The false document alleged that Daniels, identified as the estranged wife of Senator Ned Nwoko, had been diagnosed with a substance use disorder and placed on a home detox plan starting on 24 September 2025, and it also carried the name and signature of the hospital’s Managing Director and Head of Clinical Services, Adekunle Adesina.
In a formal statement released on Thursday, the hospital explained that the publication was not produced by its staff and urged the public to disregard the circulating material. The statement noted that the document contained confidential medical information that the hospital had never issued and emphasised that the online report should not be considered genuine.
Family Dispute Fuels Controversy
The false report followed accusations earlier in the week from another wife of Nwoko, who alleged on Instagram that Daniels had introduced her to drugs and alcohol, claiming that the influence nearly damaged her marriage six years earlier. The accuser explained that Nwoko had always rejected substance use of any kind and had made it clear that drug use, smoking or drinking would never be tolerated in the household. She added that Nwoko insisted on intervention during that period, a decision she described as a turning point that helped her recover from unhealthy habits.
Before the recent allegations, the same wife had been sharing positive updates about her family life, including videos of domestic moments with Nwoko and a travel clip captioned with a message about focusing on peace, personal growth and family.
Daniels’ Brother Released After Arrest
In a related development, the actress’s brother, Samuel Ojeogwu, known as Sammy West, has been released after being arrested and charged with criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation and theft. The charges were connected to a petition reportedly filed by Nwoko.
