Senator Adams Oshiomhole criticised former Vice President Atiku Abubakar following his move to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a party recently adopted by opposition figures ahead of the 2027 elections.

Atiku announced his defection on X, posting a picture of his ADC membership card with the caption: “It’s official.”
Speaking, Oshiomhole said Atiku’s inability to stabilise or lead the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) undermines his claim that he can fix Nigeria. He argued that despite Atiku’s long influence in the PDP, he failed to rebuild the party or provide direction.
Oshiomhole also recalled Atiku’s earlier exit from the APC after losing its presidential primary, saying the former vice-president only returns to parties when it suits his political ambitions.

According to him, “If Atiku couldn’t strengthen the PDP that made him vice-president, he can’t fix Nigeria.”
Atiku left the PDP in July after months of internal disputes. He was the party’s presidential candidate in the 2019 and 2023 elections.
