Residents of Lile community in Patigi Local Government Area, Kwara State, were thrown into fear on Tuesday evening after reports emerged that scores of armed men on dozens of motorcycles were advancing toward the area.
According to local sources speaking to SaharaReporters, the suspected bandits were riding in a convoy of more than 40 motorcycles, with two to three persons per bike. A nearby village first spotted the group and alerted Lile residents.

“We received a call from our neighbouring village that notorious bandits were moving in large numbers—over 40 motorcycles, each carrying two to three people,” a community member said.
The armed group reportedly passed through the neighbouring settlement without confrontation and headed straight toward Lile. Their exact location remains unknown at the time of reporting.

“They passed through the other village and moved directly toward Lile. We do not know their current position,” the source added.
Fearing a potential attack, residents have urged security agencies to intervene promptly. “We urgently request immediate security intervention in our community,” the resident pleaded.
As of now, neither the Kwara State Police Command nor other local security agencies have issued an official statement regarding the reported movement.
The alert comes just a day after terror struck Isapa community in Ekiti Local Government Area, also in Kwara State. On Monday evening, armed men reportedly stormed the town, abducting a pregnant woman, two nursing mothers, 10 children, and several others.

State police confirmed the attack on Tuesday, reporting 10 people kidnapped, although local sources said 11 individuals were taken, including seven members of the same family. Among the victims are: Talatu Kabiru, Magaji, Kande, Hadiza, Mariam, Saima, Habibat (housewife), Fatima Yusufu (housewife), Sarah Sunday (pregnant), Lami Fidelis (nursing mother), and Haja Na Allah.

Eyewitnesses reported that the gunmen fired sporadically, leaving bullet holes across walls and doors, and spent AK-47 shells were recovered in the community after the attackers fled.
