Muslim Cleric Sparks Reactions Claiming Qur’an Verse Can Make People Invisible (Video)

Abdulraheem Abdullahi Salaty, popularly known as Alfa Albarizy, a well-known Nigerian Muslim cleric, has stirred conversations online after asserting that a verse in the Qur’an can render a person invisible.

During a religious lecture, the cleric shared that he frequently relied on the verse during his school days because he was often late for morning assembly. According to Alfa Albarizy, reciting the verse allowed him to pass by groups of students being punished for tardiness without anyone noticing him.

“There’s a verse in the Qur’an that can make you invisible. Back in school, I would recite it when I was late, and I could walk past students being punished without anyone seeing me,” he explained in Yoruba.

The video of his narration quickly went viral, generating mixed reactions. While some viewers, particularly Muslims, expressed belief in his claim, others found it amusing, with many dismissing it as a childhood tale or playful exaggeration.

A portion of social media users jokingly suggested that if the verse truly worked, Nigerian soldiers could benefit from it in the fight against bandits amid rising security challenges. One user, Akinolu, commented, “If this verse is real, he should give soldiers to fight bandits.” Others recalled similar “invisibility tricks” from schooldays, such as staring at the sun or holding one’s breath to avoid prefects.

Alfa Albarizy also revealed the specific verse he used, insisting that it genuinely helped him navigate school punishments unnoticed.
