‘Tinubu has taught me the meaning of forgiveness’: Reno Omokri breaks silence after his nomination for ambassador

Former Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has broken his silence following his nomination by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the role of an ambassador.

Recall that Tinubu forwarded the names of 32 nominees, including Omokri, to the National Assembly for screening and confirmation for the role of ambassadors.

The former Jonathan’s aide was once a fierce critic of President Tinubu and even staged a protest against him at Chatham House in London.

He wrote after the protest, “Tinubu will never forget the protest we just pulled off at Chatham House. He was disgraced and could not get out of his car. He had to run away. The #HarassTinubuOutofLondon Protest Against Drug Lord Tinubu at Chatham House was a resounding success! We shook the drug lord Asiwaju.”

Omokri, in a post he published on his X page on Sunday, thanked President Tinubu for considering him for the position and providing what he called “visionary and exemplary leadership.”

He also expressed his readiness to serve Nigeria, declaring that the President has taught him the meaning of forgiveness and helped him understand the meaning of patriotism.

“The President has taught me the meaning of forgiveness and has helped me better understand what patriotism entails. In short, Christlikeness is demonstrated in him. He is the right man, at the right time, for the right job, and deserves the right hand of fellowship from all Nigerians,” Omokri wrote.
