Bandits have launched a deadly attack on Unguwar Tsamiya in Faruruwa village and the Dabawa community, both located in the Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State, abducting at least twenty five residents and injuring two people. The latest attack occurred on Sunday, less than a day after a separate incident in another nearby community.

A report shared by a journalist covering insecurity in the northwest raised concerns about the effectiveness of the ongoing peace efforts in the region, particularly in areas bordering Kano State. The report noted that the repeated attacks have created doubts about the impact of such agreements.
The message stated that bandits struck Unguwar Tsamiya in Faruruwa village and the Dabawa community in Shanono Local Government Area, injuring two people and abducting at least twenty five residents. It added that this incident happened shortly after a similar attack in another neighboring community. The writer questioned the usefulness of peace arrangements in the surrounding areas, given the continuous incidents.

Bandits have intensified attacks in several states, including Kaduna, Kwara, Kogi and Plateau, kidnapping many residents and demanding ransom. On Sunday, armed men also invaded a church in Kogi State during a live service and abducted the pastor, his wife and several worshippers.
