###BARCA MAKE ATLETICO COMEBACK TO EXTEND LIGA LEAD

Barcelona executed a strong comeback on Tuesday to defeat Atletico Madrid 3-1, moving four points clear at the top of La Liga. The victory provided a vital boost for Flick’s side against a title rival, following a recent Champions League thrashing and shaky league form.

​Despite the absences of Ronald Araujo and Frenkie de Jong, Barcelona faced a tense start. Atletico took the lead when Alex Baena broke through the high defensive line and scored, a goal confirmed by VAR.

​The Comeback

​Barcelona responded quickly. In the 26th minute, the recently recovered Raphinha leveled the score, taking the ball around Jan Oblak and sliding it into the net.

​The champions had a chance to lead before halftime but Robert Lewandowski missed a penalty, blazing the ball high and wide. Oblak then denied him moments later with a brilliant save on a header.

​In the second half,Headline news Dani Olmo put Barcelona ahead with a slick finish after receiving a pass from Lewandowski. Unfortunately, Olmo sustained a shoulder injury while scoring and had to be substituted. Playmaker Pedri also went down hurt later in the half, raising concerns for the upcoming Champions League match.

​Atletico struggled to equalize, with substitute Thiago Almada missing their best chance. In stoppage time, Ferran Torres secured the 3-1 win after being set up by Alejandro Balde, dealing a blow to Atletico’s title ambitions.

​League Standings

​The win gives Barcelona a four-point cushion at the top. Real Madrid (second) visits Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday, aiming to peg them back, while Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid remains six points behind in fourth place.
