The Lagos State Government has directed contractors to stop all rehabilitation work on the Eti-Osa/Lekki/Epe Expressway (from Admiralty Way to Jubilee Bridge in Ajah) starting Thursday, December 4, 2025.
Transportation Commissioner Oluwaseun Osiyemi announced the suspension, stating that work will resume in January 2026 to ensure seamless traffic flow during the Christmas and New Year festive season.
Simultaneously, the State Government, through LAMATA, will begin regulated bus operations on the Lekki–Epe corridor on December 8, 2025.
This first phase of the Lekki–Epe Bus Reform Scheme will deploy 229 high- and medium-capacity buses on major routes, including Ajah to CMS/Marina, Obalende, Oshodi, Berger, and Iyana Ipaja. All buses will use the Lagos blue-and-white colors and will support Touch and Pay (TAP) transactions. The initiative aims to improve safety, comfort, and operational discipline for commuters along the route.
