###BREAKING: GENERAL MUSA SWORN IN AS NEW DEFENCE MINISTER

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in General Christopher Musa (Rtd) as the new Minister of Defence. According to reports from a Nigerian news platform, the retired general took the oath of office on Thursday at the Presidential Villa.

The information was shared publicly by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

It is also recalled that the Senate confirmed General Christopher Musa (Rtd) as the new Minister of Defence for Nigeria on Wednesday. His confirmation followed about five hours of questioning and screening by members of the upper legislative chamber.

President Tinubu had earlier nominated General Musa to replace Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, who stepped down from the role for health-related reasons.

During his screening, Musa promised to enforce a zero-tolerance approach toward banditry and terrorism upon assumption of office. He assured the Senate that he would employ firm and strategic measures to address the nation’s security challenges.
