TINUBU TO PRESENT 2026 BUDGET WITHOUT ACCOUNTING FOR 2025 FISCAL YEAR – BUDGIT

Civic organisation BudgIT has raised concerns over President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s plan to present the 2026 budget of ₦54.4 trillion before the National Assembly without releasing the 2025 budget performance report.

In a statement shared on X on Thursday, BudgIT noted that while the 2026 budget is scheduled for presentation on Friday, the government has yet to make public the implementation report for the 2025 fiscal year.

“Mind you, there is still no budget implementation report for 2025. The 2026 budget is almost here, yet we don’t know how the 2025 budget performed. No report. No accountability,” the organisation stated.

For context, President Tinubu had signed the ₦54.99 trillion 2025 budget into law in February 2025.
