The Ojibara of Bayagan Ile, Kamilu Salami, who had been held by bandits for 25 days, has been freed.
The traditional ruler was kidnapped on November 29, 2025, while tending to his farm, and he returned safely to his community late Tuesday night.
News of his release sparked overwhelming joy among residents, who flooded the palace to catch a glimpse of their monarch and to celebrate his safe return with his family.
Ayinla Lawal, the community’s spokesperson, confirmed the news to Vanguard on Wednesday morning.
