APC Appoints Sen Danladi Sankara as Political Adviser to Yilwatda

The All Progressives Congress has appointed Senator Danladi Sankara as Political Adviser to its National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, in a move aimed at strengthening the party’s leadership and strategic direction.

Sankara, a two-time senator, is expected to offer guidance on political strategy, grassroots mobilisation, and national orientation. He previously served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Information and National Orientation during the Ninth Assembly, where he oversaw policies on public communication, enlightenment, and national values.

His tenure was marked by efforts to improve transparency and ensure credible government communication, giving him extensive experience in governance and political strategy.

The senator is also known for his grassroots engagement and organisational skills within the party. He chaired the committee that secured the APC’s victory in the Babura/Garki Federal Constituency by-election, reinforcing his reputation as an effective political strategist.

Party observers say his appointment will help the APC strengthen internal coordination and deepen engagement with the electorate, particularly at a time when political accountability and responsiveness are increasingly demanded.

The party views the appointment as both recognition of Sankara’s past contributions and a step toward consolidating its leadership and future political direction.
