US TO DEPORT NIGERIAN OVER VIOLENT CRIMES

The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has confirmed that a Nigerian citizen, identified as Ibrahim Tunde Ijaoba, is currently being held in its custody pending deportation after a final removal order was issued against him.

The disclosure was made on Monday through a post on ICE’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, where the agency described Ijaoba as a criminal illegal immigrant with a record of violent criminal activities in the United States.

According to ICE, Ijaoba unlawfully entered the U.S. and later became involved in several crimes. The agency also stated that he was previously affiliated with the Bloods, a notorious street gang known for violent operations.

ICE detailed his criminal history, which includes convictions for aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer involving a firearm, assault and aggravated assault, armed robbery, obstruction of justice, drug-related offences, and escaping from police custody.

The agency explained that these offences were the grounds for his removal from the country. ICE further confirmed that Ijaoba remains in custody as he awaits deportation following the issuance of a final removal order.

The Bloods is widely recognized in the United States as a violent street gang often linked to armed robbery, drug trafficking, and other serious crimes.
