KEBBI RICE MILL COLLAPSE LEAVES ONE DEAD, FIVE TRAPPED

A section of a private rice mill in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, partially collapsed on Tuesday, killing one staff member and trapping five others under the debris.

Kebbi State Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida, visited the site and ordered immediate rescue operations. The state government expressed sympathy to the management and staff of NIA-AGRI affected by the incident.

The project engineer confirmed the fatality and the ongoing entrapment of five workers. Fire service and emergency response teams are actively engaged in rescuing the trapped individuals.

The cause of the collapse remains unknown. The Deputy Governor announced that a full investigation would follow once rescue operations are concluded. The state government pledged ongoing support until all victims are accounted for.

As of reporting, the fate of the five trapped workers is still uncertain.
