Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Monday made a private visit to former military Head of State, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (retd.), at his Hilltop residence in Minna, Niger State.
Obasanjo arrived in Minna through the Ahmed Bola Tinubu International Airport, where he was received and escorted to Babangida’s residence by officials from the Niger State Government House Protocol.

According to sources cited by Daily Post, the former Nigerian leader held a closed-door meeting with Babangida that lasted approximately 30 minutes before departing back to the airport.
No official details of the discussion were made public, as neither of the two elder statesmen released a statement at the time of reporting.
The visit comes at a time of intense political engagements and consultations nationwide. It also follows Obasanjo’s recent meeting with opposition leaders and prominent political figures at his Abeokuta residence in Ogun State, a development that has continued to spark political speculation.

As of the time this report was filed, the purpose of the Minna visit remained unclear.
It will be recalled that during the 2023 general elections, Obasanjo openly endorsed the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over Atiku Abubakar and Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
