In a dramatic twist to a high-profile case, social media personality Adetoun Onajobi, widely known as ‘Justadutoun’, has fled Nigeria and is currently hiding in a neighbouring African country, This Newspaper can exclusively reveal. This development follows her formal arraignment on serious forgery charges alongside her personal physician.
Onajobi, who gained notoriety for her viral social media confession “How I went from a single mom of two to a sidechic, girlfriend and wife in 2000,” is now at the centre of a widening legal and international manhunt. Authorities confirm she is attempting to reach the United Kingdom to seek asylum, a route she has pursued previously.

The Ogun State Police Command, in conjunction with the Ministry of Justice, filed a five-count charge against Onajobi and Dr. (Name withheld) about the alleged fabrication of medical reports. The charges, obtained by our newsroom, include Conspiracy, Forgery, Uttering of False Documents, Giving False Information to Public Servants, and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
In an exclusive statement in this Newspaper, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the suspect’s flight.
“The defendant, Adetoun Onajobi, was duly charged before a court of competent jurisdiction. We have incontrovertible evidence that she has now absconded, violating her bail conditions and demonstrating a clear disregard for the judicial process,” he stated. “We are working with international channels, including Interpol, to track her movements. Fleeing does not absolve her of the serious allegations; it only compounds them.”
A senior official within the Ogun State Ministry of Justice, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter, underscored the state’s resolve.

“This is not a simple matter. The alleged forgery of official medical documents strikes at the heart of public trust and the integrity of our institutions,” the official said. “The Ogun State Government will pursue this case to its logical conclusion, irrespective of where the defendant attempts to hide. We are reviewing all international legal protocols to ensure she is brought back to face trial.”
Investigations by this Newspaper reveal that Onajobi’s attempt to seek asylum in the UK is not her first. Reliable sources within immigration circles confirm that she previously filed an asylum application several years ago, following marital disputes with her first husband. That application was reportedly unsuccessful.
Authorities see her current attempt as a strategic move to evade the Nigerian judiciary. Security analysts suggest her chosen transit country in Africa is likely a stepping stone with more direct, albeit often clandestine, routes to Europe.

She left on January 10 in 2026, after being aware of the court case.
In a dramatic twist, our investigation reveals that before her flight, Onajobi reportedly reached out to former Governors of Ogun State, Senators Gbenga Daniel and Ibikunle Amosun, both known political figures with a strained relationship with the incumbent, Governor Dapo Abiodun. Sources suggest she sought their protection, aiming to frame her legal troubles as a political witch-hunt orchestrated by the current administration.
The Ogun State Government has vehemently dismissed any political dimension to the case. In an exclusive response to our enquiry, the Special Adviser on Information, Mr Kayode Akinmade, stated:
“The judiciary and the police are independent institutions. The case against Ms Onajobi is purely a criminal matter, initiated based on evidence of forgery presented to the authorities. The Ogun State Government, under Prince Dapo Abiodun, does not engage in petty victimisation. We are focused on governance and the rule of law. Attempts by anyone to politicise a clear-cut criminal case will fail.”

Adetoun Onajobi rose to social media fame through candid posts about her personal life, culminating in the detailed narrative of her rise from a struggling single mother to a wealthy wife. However, this very publicity has now backfired, drawing intense scrutiny to her affairs.
The police investigation was reportedly triggered by a petition from a family member of her current husband, who raised suspicions about medical documents she presented during legal proceedings related to marital and financial disputes.
As international dragnets tighten, the saga of Justadetoun transforms from a tabloid social media story into a stern test of cross-border judicial cooperation. The Ogun State authorities maintain they have a strong case and are prepared for a protracted legal battle to secure her extradition.
International crime and immigration experts consulted by our desk indicate that her latest attempt to claim asylum, while facing active criminal charges in Nigeria, will be a significant hurdle. Nigeria has extradition treaties with several countries, and a history of forgery charges could complicate any humanitarian claim.
As at the time of filing this report, the whereabouts of Adetoun Onajobi in the neighbouring country remain unknown. The outcome of her alleged meetings with the former governors could not be independently verified. The Ogun State Police Command insists its focus remains on ensuring she answers to the charges before the court.
The question now is not just about asylum, but about extradition.
