Vice President Kashim Shettima met with President Bola Tinubu at the State House, Abuja, to provide a detailed briefing on Nigeria’s participation at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, just ahead of the President’s state visit to Türkiye.

Fresh from the Davos meetings, VP Shettima highlighted key outcomes, including high-level engagements, investor interest, and prospects for advancing the administration’s economic reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The briefing emphasized Nigeria’s ongoing efforts to attract foreign investment, strengthen economic partnerships, and align policies with global best practices.

Shortly after the session, President Tinubu departed Abuja on Monday, January 26, for Türkiye. The state visit is aimed at deepening bilateral relations and will focus on expanding cooperation in critical sectors such as security, education, innovation, aviation, social development, trade, and investment.
During the visit, President Tinubu is scheduled to hold strategic political and diplomatic discussions with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, reinforcing the long-standing cordial relations between the two nations.

The itinerary includes meetings with senior officials from both countries and the signing of memoranda of understanding covering areas such as energy, scientific research, technical cooperation, media and communications, military collaboration, and protocol. A Nigeria–Türkiye business forum will also convene, bringing together investors from both countries to explore new economic opportunities.
President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria at the conclusion of the visit.
