MOVED BY PUPILS SITTING ON BARE FLOOR, CSP RUKA RUKA SUPPLIES DESKS, BAGS, SANDALS TO EBONYI SCHOOLS

What started as concern over the poor learning conditions of pupils has become a source of relief for hundreds of children in Ebonyi State, as a senior police officer, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Nwode Nkeiruka, popularly known as Ruka Ruka, donated desks, school bags and sandals to pupils in selected public schools across the state.

The humanitarian gesture benefitted more than 1,000 pupils after CSP Nwode discovered that many of them were sitting on bare floors during classes and attending school without basic learning materials.

Witnesses said that prior to the intervention, several pupils lacked essential items such as school bags and sandals, a situation that affected not only their comfort but also their dignity and overall learning experience.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, CSP Nwode explained that her motivation was to support effective teaching and learning, as well as to improve the welfare of children in public schools. “As part of giving back to society, I was privileged to provide chairs, school sandals and school bags to support a public school. It may appear small, but access to basic learning materials can make a significant difference in the lives of our children,” she said.

The police officer, who is an indigene of Ebonyi State, also expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for creating an enabling environment that allows officers to serve communities beyond their official responsibilities. “I sincerely appreciate the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, for the opportunity and encouragement to impact lives beyond duty,” she added.

CSP Nwode currently serves as the Police Public Relations Officer at the Force Headquarters Annex in Lagos State.

Beyond this recent intervention, she is well known for her humanitarian efforts in Ebonyi State, including the construction of houses for indigent widows, further reinforcing her reputation as a police officer whose service to humanity goes far beyond the call of duty.
