A 17-year-old salesgirl, Ihechidere Favour Uka, has allegedly been killed by her employer, Ibekwe Ezinne Mary, 30, following a dispute at a cosmetics shop in Lagos State.
The incident reportedly occurred at about 6:30 p.m.

According to the victim’s family, the teenager had been instructed by her employer to retrieve an item. She was said to have returned later than expected, leading to an argument between both parties.
During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly slapped the teenager twice. Ihechidere reportedly reacted by slapping her employer once in return. Police sources said the suspect then allegedly picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed the girl in the chest.

The victim was said to have bled heavily and later died from her injuries.
Family members confirmed that the suspect has been arrested and is currently in police custody. She is also said to have confessed during questioning.

The incident has triggered public outrage and renewed concerns over workplace violence, anger management, and the safety of underage workers employed in small businesses.
Observers say the case highlights the need for stronger protections for young and vulnerable employees, as well as stricter consequences for workplace abuse.

As investigations continue, many are calling for justice for the deceased teenager and measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
