Osogbo, Osun State – The Osun State government is reportedly planning to mobilise one million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, according to Sunday Akere, former Osun State Commissioner for Information.
Akere, who currently serves as the Osun State Ambassador of Renewed Hope—a policy framework of President Tinubu for national transformation—made the announcement on Tuesday during the inauguration of Local Government Ambassadors for the initiative in Osogbo.

The event was attended by Senator Dayo Adeyeye, South West Zonal Ambassador for Renewed Hope; Mr. Tayo Ayinde, Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor; and Bola Oyebamiji, the APC candidate for the Osun governorship election.
Speaking at the event, Akere said that with nearly two million registered voters in Osun, the APC would target at least one million votes for Tinubu.
“We are not looking at anything less than a million votes for the President here in Osun. It is very sad that when we do elections, we always have less than 500,000 people voting. That is why we want the LG Ambassadors to go to the grassroots, mobilise the people, and engage them so that the President will have a minimum of a million votes in Osun,” he said.

He added that the ambassadors’ first mandate is to ensure victory for the party’s governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), by August 8, 2026.
Beyond electoral mobilisation, Akere said the LG Ambassadors are tasked with political outreach, engagement, and sensitising the public on the achievements of President Tinubu’s administration.
Speaking at the gathering, Bola Oyebamiji urged the ambassadors to work diligently for both the 2026 governorship election and the 2027 presidential poll. He also encouraged residents to register as new voters and called on APC members to participate in the party’s membership registration drive.

Senator Dayo Adeyeye emphasised the need for LG Ambassadors to remain committed and for APC members to continuously sensitise the public on federal government initiatives aimed at improving living standards.
The report recalled that on November 25, 2025, President Tinubu appointed Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as a Renewed Hope Ambassador, a role in which he also serves as Director-General for party outreach, engagement, and mobilisation, effectively becoming the chief political strategist for the Tinubu administration nationwide.
