Protesters returned to the National Assembly Complex on Tuesday for a second day, pressing for the real-time transmission of election results from polling units to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) IREV portal.

Demonstrators gathered at the entrance of the complex in Abuja, chanting slogans such as, “We no go gree, we no go gree, Akpabio, pass the bill,” and “Our vote must count.”

Many carried placards with messages including “Don’t alter the bill, pass it” and “Rigging election is a coup,” urging Senate President Godswill Akpabio and the National Assembly leadership to prioritise the legislation.
