DADIYATA’S ‘ABDUCTION’; DSS SET TO INVITE EL-RUFAI’S SONS FOR QUESTIONING AS WIFE OPENS UP ON

The Department of State Services (DSS) has reopened investigations into the 2019 disappearance of Abubakar Idris, widely known as Dadiyata, and is preparing to invite individuals suspected to be connected to the case.

Dadiyata, a lecturer at the Federal University Dutsinma in Katsina State and a vocal social media commentator, was reported missing after armed men allegedly abducted him from his residence in Kaduna in August 2019. Nearly seven years later, his whereabouts remain unknown.

The renewed investigation has reignited public concern, particularly from Dadiyata’s wife, Kadijah, who has again appealed for help in uncovering the truth about her husband’s fate. In a recent video interview, she expressed deep emotional distress and called on Nigerians to assist her family in finding out whether Dadiyata is alive or not.

Kadijah recounted the night of the abduction, explaining that she watched helplessly from a window as gunmen took her husband while he was entering their compound. She also spoke about hurtful comments made online at the time of the incident, saying they added to her pain during an already traumatic period.

A former presidential aide who visited the family pledged support and assured Kadijah that efforts would continue to seek justice. He also appealed to the Kaduna State Government to provide assistance to the family, including improved living conditions, educational support for the children, and possible relocation for safety.

The case resurfaced again following recent comments by a former Kaduna State governor, who denied any involvement in Dadiyata’s disappearance. He claimed the missing commentator was more critical of the Kano State government and said he had no prior knowledge of Dadiyata before the abduction was reported.

In response, a former Kano State governor rejected the allegation, describing it as an attempt to deflect responsibility. He insisted that Dadiyata was well known in Kaduna for his criticism of the state government.

Meanwhile, security sources revealed that the DSS has intensified its probe, reopening the disappearance case alongside other unresolved cases of missing persons. As part of the investigation, travel restrictions have reportedly been placed on the former governor, while his sons are expected to be invited for questioning.

The disappearance of Dadiyata continues to draw national attention, with renewed calls for accountability and closure for his family.
