John Tsoho, Chief Judge of the Federal High Court (FHC), is reportedly under scrutiny for allegedly failing to fully declare his assets, in a development highlighted by an investigative report.

According to the investigation, Tsoho did not declare three accounts held with United Bank for Africa (UBA) and one with Access Bank in his asset declaration submitted to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) on April 29, 2024. One of the undeclared accounts is reportedly in US dollars.

If verified by the CCB or other anti-corruption agencies, Tsoho could face sanctions including removal from office and a 10-year ban on holding public office. The report notes that all public officers are legally required to fully disclose bank accounts, balances, and other assets such as property.

Attempts to reach Tsoho for comment were reportedly unsuccessful. The situation draws parallels with the 2019 conviction of former Chief Justice Walter Onnoghen for false asset declaration, which was later overturned by the Court of Appeal.
