Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has appointed nine individuals and forwarded their names to the Rivers State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation as Commissioners and members of the State Executive Council.

The announcement was made in a special government notice issued on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, and signed by the Clerk of the House, Dr Emeka Amadi.

The nominees have been directed to submit forty (40) copies of their Curriculum Vitae, photocopies of credentials, and evidence of tax compliance to the Office of the Clerk at the Assembly Quarters.
The nine nominees are:

1. Professor Datonye Alasia
2. Mr Tonye Bellgam
3. Professor Temple Nwofor
4. Dr Peters Nwagor
5. Mrs Charity Deemua
6. Tamuno Williams, Esq.
7. Mr Lekue Kenneth
8. Otonye TKD Amachree, Esq.
9. Sir Amairigha Edward Hart

Following submission of documents, the nominees will appear before the House for screening, after which lawmakers will deliberate and vote on their confirmation.
This follows Governor Fubara’s earlier dissolution of his cabinet — which included eight commissioners — and the relief of all Special Advisers from their duties.
The appointments are part of efforts to reconstitute the Rivers State Executive Council.
