YUSUF’S EX-COMMISSIONER DOGUWA EMERGES KANO APC CHAIRMAN

Former Kano State Commissioner for Water Resources, Umar Haruna Doguwa, has been elected as the new chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State.

Doguwa and other party executives were returned unopposed through consensus at the APC state congress held on Wednesday at the Sani Abacha Indoor Sports Hall, Kano.ADS 5

The election was supervised by officials from the APC national headquarters in Abuja and monitored by a team from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) led by State Resident Electoral Commissioner Ann Abdu Zango.

The 2,420 delegates from the 44 local government chapters affirmed the executives via voice vote.

Other elected officials include:

– Salisu Maje Ahmed Gwangwazo – State Deputy Chairman

– Prof. Yusuf Mohammed Bichi – State Secretary

– Fatima Dala – State Woman Leader

– Nura Yaro – Assistant Secretary

– Abdul Adamu (SAN) – Legal Adviser

– Farouq Abdullahi Garo – Financial Secretary

– Salisu Yahaya – Youth Leader

– Abubakar Salisu – Auditor

The new executives were sworn in immediately after the exercise.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin were among the prominent party chieftains present.

 

In his acceptance speech, Doguwa pledged to work with all stakeholders to ensure APC victory in the 2027 general elections.

Governor Yusuf congratulated the new executives and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by consolidating the party’s gains and delivering victory in future polls.
