The Nigeria Police Force has announced that a promotion examination and interactive screening for senior officers aspiring to become Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs) will take place on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Police Service Commission headquarters in Jabi, Abuja.

According to an internal police communication distributed to commands and departments across the country, the exercise will begin at exactly 8:00 a.m. in the Chairman’s Conference Room located on the sixth floor of the commission’s building. Officers invited for the exercise are expected to arrive by 7:00 a.m. for briefing and transportation arrangements.
Among those scheduled to participate in the promotion exercise are Christopher Ado Emmanuel, Joseph Eribo, Miller Gajere Dantawaye, Henry Ifeanyi Uche, Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo, Mohammed Dahiru, Dankombo Faling Morris, Bello Shehu, Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba, Ahmed Musa, Olohundare Moshood, Jimoh Simeon, Udofia Akpanudom, and Haruna Oufemi.

Olohundare Moshood currently serves as the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, having taken over the position in February 2025. Miller Gajere Dantawaye is the Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory Command, a position he assumed in October 2025.
The police directive also outlined strict dress and conduct requirements for the interview. Officers are expected to appear in formal attire, including black jackets and berets, and carry swagger canes. The assessment will test their knowledge in law, local acts, and professional policing studies.

For security and logistical support, the force has directed that 12 well-equipped officers from the Police Mobile Force provide escort duties. The transport department has also been instructed to make available operational vehicles, including two Hilux vans, to move officers to and from the venue.
The vehicles are expected to be stationed at the Force Headquarters parade ground by 6:00 a.m. ahead of the exercise. Authorities have directed all commands to treat the promotion interview process as a high-priority operation to ensure its smooth conduct.
The exercise comes shortly after the Police Service Commission promoted seven Assistant Inspectors General to the rank of Deputy Inspectors General to fill leadership vacancies created by the retirement of several senior officers in the force.
