FG DECLARES 2 DAYS PUBLIC HOLIDAY FOR EID-UL-

The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, as public holidays to mark the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, signalling the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who extended warm greetings and congratulations to Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the fasting period.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the minister urged Muslims to continue upholding the values of love, generosity, peace, tolerance, and sacrifice, which were emphasised during Ramadan.

He also called on all Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for the peace, unity, and continued progress of the country.

While wishing Muslims a joyful Eid-ul-Fitr celebration, Tunji-Ojo encouraged citizens to celebrate responsibly and show kindness to the less privileged. He added that the Federal Government remains committed to promoting national unity and peaceful coexistence across the country.
