‘HE IS OUR LEADER, HE REPRESENTS THE SOUTH WEST’: ADELEKE DECLARES SUPPORT FOR TINUBU’S REELECTION IN 2027

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has restated his support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027, pledging to actively work towards the President’s second term ambition.

The governor made this known in a statement issued on Tuesday in Osogbo by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, following a meeting with cabinet members, special advisers, and top government and party officials at the Government House.

According to Adeleke, the ongoing political crisis over the control of local government areas in Osun State would not affect his endorsement of Tinubu. He stressed that while there may be political disagreements at the state level, they do not extend to the presidency.

“We have no problem with President Tinubu. He is our leader and represents the South West. I restate our endorsement of Mr President for re-election in the best interest of the region,” he said.

The meeting was attended by key political figures, including Deputy Governor Prince Kola Adewusi, Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly Adewale Egbedun, and other stakeholders.

Adeleke also appreciated residents for their continued support, especially following his defection to the Accord Party, noting that the party’s influence is growing rapidly across the state.

He assured citizens of improved governance, promising to strengthen development efforts if given another mandate. According to him, his administration will focus more on youth empowerment, women, workers, and key sectors such as infrastructure, agriculture, education, and healthcare.

The governor further directed party members and aides to intensify grassroots mobilisation across all 332 wards in the state, urging them to promote government achievements ahead of future elections.

Despite his endorsement of Tinubu, Adeleke remains locked in a prolonged political dispute with the All Progressives Congress (APC) over control of local government councils in the state. The crisis, which stems from conflicting claims following the 2022 and 2025 local government elections, has led to violent clashes and ongoing legal battles between both parties.
